Ady's Trip to Chicago

photo-240

Like 6 weeks ago (soo behind still) Eric and I took Ady on her own little weekend away to Chicago. We loved it. She loved it. This photo above with her leaping for joy way her reaction to hearing that our hotel was across the street from the American Girl store. And as like all vacations since Christmas, Ady's doll Millie was joining us.
(as seen below,
and dont you dare think we bought Millie her own seat on the plane, we just got lucky)

Eric refused to miss even an hour of work, so Ady, Milllie and I flew out to Chicago earlier in the day and Eric planned to meet us that night.
We walked around the city, ordered room service, planned our itinerary and tried to stay up to see daddy before bedtime.

We loved every minute of our time in Chicago. I have no idea why we don't go there more. The food? Amazing! Its all Eric could talk about...
here are some highlights.... mostly centered around what we ate and Ady's time at American Girl.

Brunch at Gage

Walking the freezing streets of Chicago.

Purple Pig, one of Eric's favorite lunch of all time. Anywhere.

photo-231

Some shopping for Millie. Ady saved her money, I think all she paid for was glasses. Really American Girl $16 for doll glasses? They saw us coming a mile away.

photo-236

Daddy was a pretty good sport, he stayed for maybe 30 mins.
Once Millie got a salon appt, he had to get out of there.
Me and Ady did the doll lunch at the American Girl Cafe, it was fun and cute and Ad was in heaven.

We swam a bit at the hotel and relaxed.

Then the babysitter came for Ady and Mom and Dad went to the UFC fight (the original purpose for the chicago trip) with our friend Brian Bailey.
Th fights were good, our seats were great. I was the only girl on there dresses like a girl, all other females were either dressed like street walkers or men. Its an odd crowd.
But so much fun.

I find after all live fights I have been to, I tend to destroy my fingernails. I really do like it but sometimes its hard to watch.

photo-227

After the fights Brian, Eric and I hit Giordano's Pizza. It was just like everyone says. Increz. We waited about a month for our food but it was worth it.

Next highlight on Ady's weekend was Pinkalicious The Musical. Also right by our hotel, Ady loved it, Eric slept and we got autographs from the cast afterwards.

This is my only picture of us there, please ignore how awful it is of me... I must have been sleepy from our midnight pizza dinner the night before.

New Year's Disney Cruise: Part 2

photo-204

If you missed part 1 of our Disney Cruise, you can find it here. The 2nd half of the trip was as exciting and action packed as the first.. It included..

Character breakfast with Lucy handing out kisses to all characters who came our way.
She was overcome by the spirit of Disney, I suppose.

It included Eric, me and Lucy's afternoon in Puerto Vallarta while Ady and Max attending Disney cooking school back on the ship at the Oceaneers Lab.

A rocking Pirate Dinner followed by upper deck after party with all the pirate adventure you would ask for including firework show and Mickey Mouse riding a zip line across the top of the ship.

Our first day in Cabo, one of our families favorite vacay spots.
We did the water taxis around to see the sights, feed the fish, and hit up some beach time while we ate our favorite lunch in Mexico, fish and shrimp tacos.

Day 2 in Cabo Lucy got sick so mommy stayed with her on the ship while Daddy, Ady and Max hit Lovers Beach and Pelican Beach for more fun in the sun. Then they did lunch at one of our favorite sushi spots anywhere on EARTH Niksan. They even smuggled a roll back on the ship for mommy who was sad to be missing out on her favorite sushi and her favorite beach in Cabo (Lovers Beach)

Mommy and Lucy's day on the ship sick was less exciting. I think we walked the length of the ship on every deck at least twice. Poor Lulu.

Just pushing the liquids.

That night was New Years Eve, another formal dinner night full of yummy food. (Ady ate 2 lobsters) We partied it up big time. After keeping the kids up late every night for the parties and festivities we were in bed at 9pm on New Years Eve. We had finally hit a wall.
Good thing the Disney ship does a fake midnight countdown for families earlier in the evening. None of us made it to midnight.

I guess our last day back to port I got no photos since I was fully seasick from coming back up north against the wind. I hadnt felt the boat rock hardly at all the previous 6 days but our last night coming back to LA, I felt every little thing. Bleh. Must be why I took no pics.
Here is one last pic of Lucy giving up and laying down on the ground at the airport.
It was an exhausting day, fog delayed our flight which we were already 2 hours early for an additional 3 hours. At Long Beach airport which is basically the worst airport to be stuck at for 5 hours with kids. But we made it home. Happy and safe and with loads of good memories.
Til next time Disney Wonder!
