The lovely and talented Ashlee Raubach did some new pics of my kiddos last week. I love them all. She posted even more than this on her blog here.

I love working with Ashlee because I just shop for all the clothes I want to use, then I send her pictures of the outfits I have put together and she does the rest. I completely trust that whatever se does I will love.

Maximus

Look how old my little Max is looking these days. I have been meaning and meaning to write a post on on the new stuff this kid is up to but life is so busy, and in 2 weeks he will be turning 3, so I am sure I can post more about him then. But for now. Here are a few highlights of max these days.

- Has been sleeping in his big boy room for a couple months now, made the transition no prob. I was worried it might be a battle since we waited so long (ady moved out of her nursery at 18 month so make room for baby max) but, as usual Max took it like a champ and was even so pumped to tell everyone about his huge big so tall bed.

- He has also been successfully potty trained since January, hence his reward of moving into the big boy bed. He took forever to accomplish this feat but loves his new underwear that he has been sportin.

- got his 3 year old pictures taken last week by our favorite local photog Ashlee Raubach, post coming later this week on those darling shots.

- got registered for preschool at Challenger this fall and is super excited to have is "own preschool thats just for him, and not Ady and not baby Lucy just for big boys, like him, right mom??"

- Has been learning some awesome new skills at swim lesson, like dive to the bottom to pick up dive sticks and rings and working on strokes. This kid is a fish.

- he sings song to baby "Wucy" in mommies tummy just about every day. He thinks she likes "I love to see the Temple" and "Twinkle" the very best.

- has a serious crush on his babysitter Emmy. "Mommy, I love my Emmy, she is my best friend" or "Can I have Emmy come play today, I really really love her"

- has been so excited about his upcoming 3rd birthday, he requested a "circus clown, airplane, car, bouncey ball, monkey, cupcake, motorcycle madagascar birthday" seriously. You can ask him to repeat it and he wont miss one every time. What is he actually getting a "max's favorite things" party. So I can incorporate all of them without running out of room on the invites. He is sooo excited.

- In February he had his first trip all by himself with mommy, Ady stayed at Grandma's and Daddy was golfing down in Scottsdale. So Max and I flew to Northern California to spend the weekend in Danville with the Shelton boys (Austin and Seth) for the weekend. He loved it. (photos below)

3rd Annual Dessert Night.

Last Friday was our annual Dessert Night (adults only). We started the tradition because when you live in Utah and its freezing and yucky outside, January and February tend to drag a bit. So it gives us a sweet night to look forward to. This year we tried out a new change for Dessert night in years past like here, I gathered Dessert from all our favorite Dessert spots, Dippidee, Sweet Tooth Fairy, Magleby's, Chocolate Elation, Market Street as well as making a few of my own. Which is extremely time consuming but fun to have all our favorite sweet in one room. This year to just try something new we had our favorite caterer Culinary Crafts do the whole night. They did a great job but I'm still trying to decide which I like better, having it all done by one place to gather the best of the best. Not sure. But here is what we did this year.

As usual we had a cupcake, brownie station but this year also included, mini tiramisu, and lovely opera cakes.

Another new addition this year was the creme brulees, (2 kinds) as well as the pot de cremes and the cream filled truffle cups with a variety of fruit toppings. I probably had 6 of the raspberry ones. And I love the pretty spun sugar that was on top of the vanilla bean creme brulee.

Another benefit of a caterer was the option of gelato. We had a station in our kitchen of different french macaroons paired with different gelatos. And I love the Macaroon tree displays. So pretty.

I think my very favorite thing may have been the drink station. They had citrus water, sweetened steamed milk and a light milk chocolate hot cocoa. But what made it special was the add ins they had. First off, candy dipped spoons, in peppermint, carmel, white and dark chocolate and toffee. How cute, fun and delish is that? They also had fresh whipped cream, cinnamon, sprinkles, chili powder, and other toppers for your drinks.

Upstairs in the kitchen they made yummy crepes with orange butter, nutella, fresh cream and berries. I am not even going to admit how many of these I had. But in my defense they kept just bringing them to me.

We hope all our guest had a great time, we don't get to see do many of you enough so it was so nice to all get together for a relaxing night (with no kiddos) and catch up.
